Wisconsin Senate Bill Requires Sex Education to Focus on Abstinence and Marriage
The bill for Wisconsin to require abstinence preached in sex education has passed, and is headed to the state assembly. Here's a link with a short video clip and article about it.
I read this in the paper the other day. I actually thought it was very interesting, mostly because my mother is the health teacher at my high school. She was really pushing for this to go through because she thinks having the know how of sex publicly available for students invites them to experiment with the knowledge they learn to see if it's true or not. Therefore, public sex education could have been a probable cause for STD/STI and teem pregnancies. If the students don't know certain things to experiment with, they have to either talk with friends or parent to get the information, or do research on their own. But really, there isn't a huge need for that either due to the desensitized nature of the media in today's society.
